You know you've got the looks but they must be in their best condition so that you stand out from others who also want to become a model. You have to be realistic and like other professions there are stringent requirements that all but a few models comply with before they start modelling:

  • Good clear skin and healthy teeth, hair etc
  • You should have a well proportioned, good body shape with even features
  • The ideal height is 5ft 7in and above (female) and 5ft 10in and above (male) - anything less is possible but your determination will be challenged or you'll need a lucky break!
  • Females should have bust-waist-hip measurements of around 34-24-34 inches (86-61-86cms) and males should have a 38-40 inch (97-102cm) chest and a 30-32 inch (76-81cm) waist.
  • Work on the pouts and poses so they are in your muscle memory and can be instantly recalled.

Attitude

Time is money and you'll need to be professional to become a model. Punctuality is essential - be at the venue early and ready to start at the allotted time. The team includes highly paid photographers, directors etc who create images for a profit and they will not take kindly to you wasting their time.
Furthermore it is discourteous and not how you would expect to be treated. Be positive and happy - even in the most difficult situation - it will help you and those around you have fun and enjoy their work.

DETERMINED to BECOME A MODEL

Its down to you put the work in to become a model and the results will follow. It is not an easy life and you need to keep focused on work opportunities. Keep pushing yourself, promote yourself and look for new opportunities.
Don't be surprised if there are periods when there are few opportunities its normal when you start modelling. Always give 100% and you'll get a good reputation which will spread by word of mouth.

DIFFERENTIATE

Lots of young, bright, attractive people are interested in getting into the modelling industry and you need to create a demand for your services.
You do this by differentiating yourself from the others .
You are unique so be creative and use you unique looks, thoughts, attitude to create something special and you will become a model.
